Helen & Johnny - OTR-Sunday Summer Sci-Fi-01

Hello All!!!!! Helen and I are proud to host a special presentation of “An Afternoon of Old Time Radio” at the Daily Grind Coffee Shop on 48 High Street in beautiful, downtown Mount Holly, New Jersey. If any of you wonderful folks happen to be in the vicinity of Mount Holly, New Jersey on Sunday, August 23rd (2PM to 4:30PM), we cordially invite you to stop by and enjoy a tasty beverage as we present “Sunday Summer Sci-Fi”. We will be presenting three classic shows from the “Golden Age of Radio” with a ‘Science Fiction’ theme.

Stay for 1, 2, or all 3 shows!!!! As a special bonus, we are also planning to broadcast the presentation live on the internet radio station “Radio Once More” the following Wednesday, August 26th at 9PM. This gives you two chances to catch our “Summer Sci-Fi” presentation live, once at the Daily Grind Coffee Shop, and once on “Radio Once More”. We are going to have some great shows, music, and treats lined up for this special Sunday afternoon event. Also, rumor has it that there will be a few Give-a-Ways!!!! Stop by and try something a little different and experience how we were entertained back in the 1930′s, 40′s, and 50′s before television. All you need are your ears and your imagination!!!! Arrive early if you plan on attending, it is a cozy coffee shop with limited seating.

Helen and I sincerely hope to see you Sunday afternoon at the Daily Grind Coffee Shop on August 23rd and on “Radio Once More” on Wednesday evening August 26th at 9PM!!!!! Woo-Hoo!!!!

‘State Capital Traveler and Author Jim Stembridge on Radio Once More’

50 State Capitols-02

Recently, I had the pleasure to chat with State Capital traveler, and author, Jim Stembridge on our ‘Woo-Hoo Wednesday’ Radio Show ‘At Home with Holmsey’ on the internet radio station, “Radio Once More”. We discussed Jim’s travel adventures and experiences as he toured and documented all 50 US state capitals.

Jim’s state capital travels are chronicled in his book, “Fifty State Capitols: The Architecture of Representative Government”.  The book is loaded with facts, history, and trivia about all 50 state capitals. Jim’s outstanding photography shines throughout this book with a 2 page spread on each capital. Jim also has an introduction, a comparison section, and he even included a glossary so that we can gain a better understanding of our wonderful state capitals as we read Jim’s accounts and view his magnificent photos.

Jim’s book and more information can be obtained at Jim’s web site:

Below is the complete, discussion that I had with Jim about his travels and his wonderful book.  A big thanks again to Jim Stembridge for taking the time to chat with us!!!!! Enjoy the State Capital discussion!!!!

Our last ‘Woo-Hoo Wednesday’ on the internet Radio Station ‘Radio Once More’ included lots of 1970’s music and 1970’s related segments.  Before we got into all the 1970’s fun, we played another silly and zany sketch.  For those of you that missed it, You can hear the sketch below.

Big thanks to our friends, Dana and Christopher Smith for lending their creative talents to this sketch, and also thanks to B-Mom and of course Helen for their contributions as well.  We look forward to seeing you again soon on ‘Radio Once More’ and of course, right here at the ‘Holmsey Blog’.
